Looking to make your own crumb cake? It’s one of my favorite desserts, but I never wanted to tackle making it until my good friend Debra gave me her famously delicious recipe.  Her yummy homemade crumb cake is not only doable, it’s made with store bought cake mix, Dream Whip, and some other basic ingredients and spices.

I can say I’ve made this recipe and it is outstanding and fairly simple to do. So if you’re like me and need a little crumb cake in your life, then this recipe will do the trick!

FOR THE CAKE
  • 1 box duncan hines yellow cake mix
  • 1 package Dream Whip envelope
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 1/2 tsp Vanilla
FOR THE TOPPING
  • 1 lb of melted butter margarine
  • 4 cups unsifted flour
  • 1 1/3 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 tsp Vanilla
  • pinch of salt

Instructions
  1. Pre heat oven 350 degrees F. Grease a 12x18 baking pan. Beat all the ingredients listed above "FOR THE CAKE" in mixing Bowl. Beat 4 minutes and then pour into the the pan and bake for 20-25 min.
  2. While the cake is baking combine all the dry ingredients " FOR THE TOPPING" in a bowl and then add the melted butter and knead.
  3. When the cake is done, remove from oven, but leave in pan. Put crumb topping on and place pan back into the oven for an additional 20-25 minutes. When cake and crumbs are done, shut off the oven, but leave the pan in for another 12-15 minutes.
  4. Remove pan from oven and let cool in pan. Cut squares of your choice in pan and sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
