French Toast Panettone

Panettone Toast

Panettone bread sliced and dipped in citrus and nutmeg egg wash, then toasted on the griddle.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 3.5 oz mini panettone sliced
  • 4 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk or half n half
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • teaspoon orange extract more if desired
  • Cooking spray or butter for griddle
  • Powdered sugar for sprinkle
  • 1 orange for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Slice panettone into ¼" slices (about 5 slices per loaf)
  • Scramble eggs, milk, nutmeg and orange extract
  • Warm griddle with butter or cooking spray
  • Dip each slice into egg wash and then place onto hot griddle.
  • Panettone are done when golden brown on both sides.
  • Serve warm with orange slices and sprinkled with powdered sugar.

Notes

This recipe was tested and created with mini panettone (3.50 oz). Please adjust measurements if using a traditional 2lb panettone.
