It’s almost almost Turkey Time! Are you ready for all that food, family and maybe even football fun? I’m really looking forward to spending some time with the family and preparing a huge Thanksgiving feast with all our favorite trimmings.

Sadly however, there is one trimming I often fall short on… dessert.  Not because I can’t bake, because I always spend so much time on the savory side of the meal, I overlook the sweet. Yikes, what’s Thanksgiving without dessert, right?!  Well family and friends, this year I’m ahead of the game and dessert is covered and waiting to be enjoyed thanks to my friends (and yours) from Racine Danish Kringles

Now you might be asking yourself, as I did … what’s a kringle and how do I get one?  A Kringle is a Scandinavian dessert that also happens to be the “Official Wisconsin Pastry”. Using the same time honored traditions that were brought to America by Danish bakers in the 1800’s, Racine Danish Kringles are handmade in a third generation family owned bakery in you guessed it …. Racine, Wisconsin.

These Kringles start with a flaky, buttery dough that is hand-rolled 81 times before being stuffed with one of their various fruit and nut fillings.  Once filled, each hand shaped oval kringle is baked to a golden crisp, and then hand-iced by an artisan baker. Scrumptious!

The best news about these delicious handmade treats is you don’t have to live in Wisconsin to get one! These freshly baked Danish Kringles can be ordered and shipped to you or someone else within days of placing an order.  You can also schedule your delivery to arrive on or about a specific date ensuring a specific arrival time.

When the Kringles arrive they can be enjoyed right away or frozen for up to 6 months.  Once defrosted Racine Danish Kringles can stay fresh for up to 5 days at room temperature.  If they even last that long.
