The coffee gods have smiled down upon me this month! I received this Brand New Oxo On Barista Brain 9 Cup Coffee Maker to test out from my friends over at Influenster. Talk about the best day ever.

As luck would have it, I was actually in the market for a new coffee maker when I received this Oxo On Coffee Maker.  I have been going back and forth on a traditional drip coffee maker vs. the single brew for over a year now. The main reason I had not gone ahead and swapped out my old machine for a one cup at a time coffee maker is because despite the longer brewing process, a traditional drip coffee maker just makes a better cup of coffee (in my opinion).

I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. All opinions are my own.

Then poof, like magic, this coffee pot literally lands on my doorstep. Not only does it claim to make the perfect cup of coffee, but it is also a drip coffee maker that has the ability to make one cup at a time. Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about!

What I LOVE: a list of some of the features I love about the Oxo On 9 Cup Coffee Maker

  • Programmable Wake-up timer: mornings have been JOYFUL waking up to that pot of coffee as I stumble out of bed.
  • Single touch button for setting the brew cycle, clock and timer.
  • Freshness Timer: which tells you how long the coffee has been sitting in the pot. Once the freshness timer reaches the optimal freshness time of 1 hour, it automatically turns off (I mean what’s worse than stale coffee?!).
  • QUIET: brews without a lot of noise (at first I kept thinking it wasn’t on but it was.)
  • Thermal Carafe which keeps the coffee perfectly warm.

Just a few “non game changer” items that I think should be mentioned:

  • VERY WIDE: The coffee pot is a little bit on the LARGE side in comparison to other drip coffee makers. Since the water travels up the chamber and over to the coffee grinds, it’s a bit WIDER. This might present a problem if space in your kitchen is an issue.
  • I also wish I could brew more than 9 cups of coffee for times when I have large gatherings. But since the coffee maker brews fairly quick, I don’t think it will be a huge issue.
  • The glass chamber tends to fog up and stay cloudy even after a few hours. It annoys me, but might not be a big deal to you.

I have been using my new Oxo On 9 cup Coffee Maker for about 4 weeks now and overall, I think the coffee maker is outstanding in flavor, brew time, ease of use, and temperature. Although it is priced on the higher side, I think it’s a good buy for anyone that is in the market for a new coffee pot.  It’s a better choice than the single brew, in my opinion, because it’s more versatile with the 1 cup of coffee or more option.
