churro dupe

Churros are a delicious fried pastry dessert that are coated in a sweet cinnamon and sugar mixture, providing a slightly spiced flavor. These treats originated in Spain, Portugal, and Mexico, and have since become popular around the world. While traditional churros can be challenging to make, this Puff Pastry Churro Dupe recipe offers a simple alternative that makes for a great dessert or snack.

This Puff Pastry Churro Dupe is the perfect quick and easy substitute for a traditional Churro treat. Unlike the time-consuming traditional recipe, Puff Pastry is pre-made and comes in frozen form, which makes it a great alternative for busy people who still want a delicious dessert or snack without having to spend hours in the kitchen.

Plus, Puff Pastry in general is a time saver, making it a great hack for any recipe. Moreover, this recipe is slightly healthier as it is baked, not fried. The cinnamon and sugar coating on the puff pastry gives it the same sweet and slightly spiced flavor as traditional churros, so you won’t miss a thing.

Try this recipe for a quick and easy treat that everyone will love.

How to Make this Easy Puff Pastry Dessert

Making Puff Pastry Churros could not be easier. To start, defrost your puff pastry according to the package directions. Then spread out the pastry sheet onto your baking pan. I like to use parchment paper as a liner.

Next, with a pastry wheel or knife, cut the puff pastry in half and again vertically into strips. You should have about 16 strips give or take a few.

After cutting the puff pastry into strips, separate them on the baking sheet so they are not too close together. About 1″ or so apart. Now place them into the oven for approximately 8-10 minutes. Remember all oven temps can vary so you may have to adjust your temp accordingly.

Now, prepare the coating which is melted butter, and mix together the sugar and cinnamon.

Once the puff pastry churros are golden brown, remove them from the oven. Let them cool slightly before coating them in melted butter and rolling in the sugar-cinnamon mixture. That’s it! You’re treats are ready to eat!

While I would never discourage anyone from attempting the original recipe, this quick and easy churro dupe is perfect for those short on time. Impress your guests with these churro-inspired treats without the hassle of making them from scratch.
